For your enjoyment and education take advantage of our decorative art painting classes offered by Artist and Teacher Dina Jacobs.

Decorative painting is an art form where you learn to paint using designed patterns and specific techniques.

Your choice of classes is varied.  Start with our Basics Beginners Course and continue with classes in all levels of acrylics and faux finishing.

It is a great place to meet others sharing your interests and make new friends while exploring your creativity.

All you need is the desire to learn and paint.

Costs:

Adult Classes: $15 per session.  PLUS the cost of the project piece and supplies.  A class will typically run more than 1weekly session, depending upon the project.

Childrens Classes: $15 per session.  This INCLUDES a small* project piece and use of supplies.  Typically one project is completed each week.

*Note: There will be an extra cost for an additional or a larger project piece.

Deposit: A $15.00 Non-refundable deposit is required at sign-up, which will be applied to the cost of the first class session.

Note:

Class sizes are limited to 8 students due to space, and to permit adequate attention to be given by the teacher.

Class Critiques:

Beginners: Begin with a basic project; A floral pattern with 2 choices of flowers.

Learning Basics:

• Introduction to supplies
• Tips for preparing the surface for painting
• Brushes and brush care
• Sanding, sealing and bascoating
• Transferring patterns
• Wash
• Common strokes
• Highlight line work
• Shading
• Varnishing

These are all things that the student will use continually in all decorative art classes.

Intermediate: Project instruction at this level is to continually apply more information in learning detailed painting techniques.  Projects are chosen by students from several suggested.

Children: Projects are selected based on an assessment of the child's ability. The student will learn all of the basic techniques on small projects that typically can be completed each week.  The project piece is included in the class cost.

Children's afternoon classes are ideal during Track-out times from school, after school and for Home School students Art Projects.
